The year 2006 will be our twenty-fifth anniversary of gathering together as Friends and to mark this very special occasion, arrangements have been made for this year's annual meeting to take place in Chillicothe, Ohio—the home of Dard Hunter.
The scheduled dates for the conference are from Thursday, October 19th through Saturdary the 21st with optional pre-conference events planned for Wednesday, October the 18th and Thursday morning the 19th. The meeting will officially begin Thursday evening with the Anita Lynn Forgach Keynote presentation. Dard Hunter, III will be our site host and present a very unique opportunity for our members to visit Mountain House, Dard Hunter's home and studio.
Cash donations and money brought in each year at our auctions is used to pay for scholarships for the following year's meeting. These scholarships allow students and others of modest means to participate in our meetings. If you would not otherwise be able to afford this year's meeting, perhaps a scholarship would help to make it possible.There are three levels of FDH scholarships available: Regional Scholarships: $150, for members who live within a 50 mile radius of the Annual Meeting site. Full Scholarships: $250, for members who live outside the 50 mile radius, and Foreign Travel Scholarships: $400, for members who are traveling from outside the United States. You must be a current member of the Friends to particpate. Please mark the Scholarship checkbox on the Annual Meeting Registration Form to become a candidate. Annual Meeting Registration Forms are mailed in July of each year to our entire membership. This same Registration Form will be posted on our website a month later. This permits our current paid members to have the first opportunity to fill out the Registration Form and make their event selections (another benefit of membership in the Friends). As a scholarship candidate, your completed Annual Meeting Registration Form must be mailed before September 15th. Do not send any money with the Registration Form. Payment arrangements will be made after selection notification.
