Galloway Glass was established as a company in 1989 by designer and glass engraver Frances McCallum. From our studios near the small village of Beeswing in South West Scotland the Galloway Glass team work together to design, engrave, pack and ship each order received from our many customers around the world.
The village of Beeswing was named after some long ago race horse which won a coal miner enough money to open a pub named after his lucky horse, in the then village of Lochend. The pub became so popular that the locals elected to re-name the village. The church minister and the elders did not approve and to this day the church is still called Lochend.
The views from the workshop windows are both tranquil and inspirational with red squirrels and assorted wildlife entertaining the engraving team on any given day. The not so wild McCallum family cat is very much in evidence dividing her time between the family home and adjoining studios.
