- Growing up in the high Sierra Nevada mountains of eastern California left Reuben with a foundation of wilderness expertise that has been continually augmented ever since he left home as a young man. Beginning in 1988, Reuben worked as an Emergency Medical Technician with Aegis Ambulance and Symons Emergency Specialties in Bishop, California for nearly three years, and served briefly on the Inyo County Sheriff's Posse Search and Rescue Team.
