Dr. James W. Moore, D.O.M., is a graduate of the International Institute of Chinese Medicine (IICM) and also holds a Master of Oriental Medicine. He is nationally board certified in Herbology and Acupuncture. He spent three and a half years on staff at Northwestern Memorial Medical Group's Center for Integrative Medicine, in Chicago. In addition to patient care, he worked with hospital administrators to create policies for the management of patients who were taking herbs and supplements. Beyond this he was instrumental in developing a more comprehensive admissions policy, so that it would include information regarding a patient's regimen of herbs and supplements. This change helped increase the total efficacy of care delivered by the hospital. Dr.
Moore’s responsibilities also included teaching and leading rounds for Northwestern University Medical School students and residents. He also coordinated a research project studying the effectiveness of herbal therapy in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
Prior to his time at Northwestern Dr. Moore garnered seven years of herbal experience in Chicago, Illinois and Santa Fe, New Mexico developing new techniques in treating HIV, migraines, and cancer. While in Santa Fe, he taught classes and prepared a manual in herbal tincture and extract preparation. It was at this time that he pioneered original herbal formula preparations, combining ancient time-tested Chinese prescriptions with modern, scientifically researched herbs of “double blind” proven efficacy.
