Hunter Valley Lattice was started in July 1998 by Chris & Louise Mathews. Chris & Louise grew up in the Hunter Valley and still live in the area today.
Prior to owning Hunter Valley Lattice, Chris worked in several businesses including ones in the liquor industry. In late 1997 Chris decided to go for a career change and started working in the manufacturing industry. This was how Chris became aware of the Colorbond steel lattice products available. Chris knew immediately that this product had a lot of potential in regions outside of metropolitan Sydney, so in mid-1998 Chris and Louise took the big plunge into self employment.
Hunter Valley Lattice has grown in success with each passing month and Louise & Chris are very happy with its success. Hunter Valley Lattice doubled its annual turnover in the first 12 months of operation. Hunter Valley Lattice won the 1999 Hunter Region Business Excellence Award for manufacturing. They won this prestigious award over several other businesses.
