Description
NOPS Board approved the Edward Hynes Charter School Application on 04/19/2006. The Board of Directors are Todd Schexnayder (President), Alvin Miester (Vice President), Elizabeth Sigler (Secretary), Dr. Tim Ryan, Dr. Jim Meza, Barbara Richard, and Darlene Brown. Principal, Assistant Principal and Faculty has yet to be hired and application acceptance dates have yet to be determined. Michelle Douglas has been named Interim Principal.
We are delighted to announce the University of New Orleans (UNO) partnership with Edward Hynes Charter School. UNO is dedicated to the revitalization of the entire lakefront area and has committed to be an invaluable set of resources for our school's operations including providing the following: student teachers, business management resources, innovative teaching methods, enhanced educator training, workshops, mentorships, etc.
All proposals have been received for contracting services to repair and reconstruct 990 Harrison Avenue facilities. The range of bids were from $3.8 Million to $7.3 Million. Alvarez & Marsal are currently reviewing these bids and keeping us in the loop of their processes.
