One of the largest exporters of tea from Sri Lanka today, Imperial Teas began life as a small dedicated team’s strong drive to supply the world Pure Ceylon Tea. Our young company was founded in 1994 with just fifteen staff. Our focus was our marketing - mainly of the packetted tea segment, directed at the CIS countries.
The dawn of 1995 saw the launch of ‘IMPRA’ our own brand name and flagship product to the CIS Countries. Continuous brand promotion and commitment to quality established the brand "IMPRA" in these markets.
‘MIAD’ was the next star to emerge in 1996, with emphasis on bulk packaging aimed at the Middle Eastern market, getting established in Dubai, Iran, Kuwait, Jordan & Syria. During the first year of its operation, Imperial Teas exported 2,731,090.0kgs and was placed as the 24th largest exporter in the country.
