The Interkönyv site gives access to current and eternal books and university course books in electronic format, ready to be purchased as a whole or by separate chapters.
Publishing rights are clear in each case. Due partially to the typographic value of the books, e-books are only found in the system in pdf format.
The table of contents, the preface and the index may be downloaded free of charge. Books may be read after downloading File-Open plugin (ensuring DRM technology). Downloaded files may be copied but the copies are unreadable.
The whole text of the book, and the expressions within are searchable. Results show the searched expression together with 1 or 2 lines surrounding it which makes search much easier.
The PDF file purchased (book or chapter) may only be opened on the customer's computer*. The identification of the computer is based on the unique identifiers of the main hardware, which are turned into a unique computer identifier by the above-mentioned FileOPen extension; this is done automatically, so the use of the files does not depend on where or how the computer is connected to the Internet.
The file may be opened any number of times but may only be printed once. Water marks in the downloaded file identify the customer, the author and the publisher. In case of illicit copying, we will regretfully be obliged to ban printing of all other files purchased by the customer.
We recommend at least Adobe Reader 8 for opening and printing books. When printing A/5 pages, it is recommended to keep the original size, when printing B/5 pages, you may print two pages on one sheet.
If you buy the whole book, one page costs 3.5 Ft, if you buy by chapters, one page costs 4.5 Ft. The price of the electronic book is only 20% of that of the real, physical book.
You may pay with a credit card – through OTP's system – or with the so-called DebitCode prepayed card. (> Payment methods)
Interkönyv offers a new possibility for our authors, too. If printing, storing, delivery and other costs are an obstacle, the technology of e-publishing is the ideal solution for honouring both actors, namely the author and the publishing house. Interkönyv values real value!
- According to the system, the customer's computer is the one whose data were provided by the user upon registration. The registration of the computer is a simple process of a few clicks, during which no personal data end up with Interkönyv. Interkönyv users may access the computer registration page after login.
