- Larafara was launched fall of 2000 by Lara Abuzayyad. A native Washingtonian, Lara received her degree in Fashion Design from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. In addition, she studied fashion and art in Florence, Italy at the Accademia Italiana of Art, Moda, and Design. After working in various fields including Couture Sales and Art education, Lara returned to her first love, designing handbags and accessories. . . . And that is how Larafara was born! Currently, Lara designs and produces all pieces which are sold in New York and Miami boutiques.
