Title
Archibald McAulay - Structural Steel Engineers Scotland - Metal, fabrication, Steelworkers
Description
Archibald McAulay, Structural Engineers, Scotland
Archibald McAulay was established in 1934 as a jobbing blacksmith's company by the grandfather of the current proprietor, Harry. In 1939, Harry's father joined the business, and it continued in the same manner, concentrating on gates, railings, ladders etc. In 1981 Harry joined the business.
As a chartered Civil Engineer, Harry was more used to larger projects, and the company started to become more involved in such projects too, (including the St Enoch Centre, Glasgow Concert Hall, Faslane Shiplift etc).
As the projects became larger, so did the commercial risks, and for this reason a McAulay became a limited company in 1987.
