Hi. Because I define myself neither by my career nor by my accomplishments, I tend to get a trifle tongue-tied when people ask me the perennial conversation-bouquet questions "Who are you?" or "What do you do?" However, for the purposes of this weblog, suffice it to say:
On a more personal note, my name is Tim Warner, and I'm a 36-year old man living in Nashville, TN with my beloved wife, Susan, and our four amusing animals (two cats, a dog, and a parakeet). Sue and I moved to Nashville in early 2000 from Syracuse, New York, our mutual hometown. To help you associate a face with a name (and, more importantly, a face with writing), here is a picture of yours truly that was snapped in early May 2006:
How the Mother Tongue Annoyances weblog came into existence is a fairly interesting story. Truth be told, MTA began life as a test case for a computer-based training (CBT) product I developed for Virtual Training Company in May 2005. I must candidly admit to you that I learned most of what I presently know about blogging in my researching and developing that particular training course.Please understand that Mother Tongue Annoyances was and is more than a "clinical exercise" for me. The content of the MTA weblog stems from and continues to exist solely because of my passion for the English language. In point of fact, MTA never actually went "live" until after I finished the VTC project; by that time I was fully "hooked" on the blogging concept, and I have not looked back ever since!
