Title

North Carolina Restaurant Association - working to protect, promote, inform, and improve the restaurant industry in North Carolina

Description

From its humble beginnings at the O. Henry Hotel in Greensboro in 1947, the North Carolina Restaurant Association (NCRA) has evolved into the industry watchdog for North Carolina restaurants, and one of the largest and most influential restaurant associations in the country. Based in Raleigh, the NCRA is a not-for-profit trade association comprised of 2,500 North Carolina foodservice businesses and their suppliers. The NCRA is a dual-membership organization associated with the National Restaurant Association.

The purpose and mission of the NCRA is to protect, promote, inform and improve the restaurant industry in North Carolina. The NCRA lobbies the state General Assembly and regulatory agencies to safeguard the interests of its members, protecting their business interests while ensuring the safety, health and enjoyment of the dining public. In addition, we provide a host of products and services--from discount training programs to group health insurance – that help our members stay ahead of the game.

The NCRA is governed by a board of directors, composed of restaurateurs and foodservice professionals and suppliers. Day-to-day activities are handled by the association’s full-time staff, which acts as lobbyist and liaison with legislative and regulatory agencies, directs membership marketing and communications, and provides service and support to members.
