In 1974 she earned a master's degree in psychiatric mental-health nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In 1993, she became the second nurse in the United States to be certified as a Holistic Nurse by the American Holistic Nurses' Association.
She has been a therapist in private practice for more than thirty years using spiritually based psychotherapy, relaxation, imagery, and holistic nursing skills. In 1995, she expanded her practice to include environmental health counseling. Through personal experience with and extensive study of a serious environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), Peggy Wolff has gained the kind of knowledge needed to assist those similarly affected.
In addition to having extensive clinical experience in various mental health services, Peggy Wolff has taught nursing at the college level for many years. From 1984 to 1995, she co-developed and taught the American Holistic Nurses' Association four phase Certificate Program in Holistic Nursing throughout the U.S.
