During a particularly long dry spell of things to do in San Antonio, TX, 3 seasoned, yet frustrated hip hop heads began discussing the old principle of strength in numbers. They began to discuss the potential that the city of San Antonio had, but the shortcomings that their city faced due to a lack of experienced, motivated and consistent event coordinators and promoters. Following the initial discussion, the 3 individuals began recruiting a team of incredibly talented, hungry and reliable aerosol artists, DJs, MCs, B-boys & girls and general enthusiasts to help revitalize the failing scene in their town. The initial call-out was organized and over 50 people attended to hear the ideas, visions and goals that these 3 cats had for their local scene. There were many skeptics, but many discussion-worthy issues and ideas were pointed out and covered. This initial call out proved the point that there are many people interested the same culture, all of whom share a similar vision. All that was left to do was to secure a base membership and begin providing these members with the platform to display their particular talents.

In our opinion, there are 5 elements to the hip hop culture. The first four elements consist of the DJs, the MCs, the graffiti artists and the break-dancers (b-boys/b-girls). In order achieve and maintain a successful scene, the fifth element cannot be overlooked. The people that represent and support this culture are the most important asset to any scene. With that said, the Prhymemates will continue to strive to reach out and exceed the expectations of the people who make up the fifth element of our hip hop culture; YOU!

In closing, the main objective of the Prhymemates collabo is to provide a medium for fellow hip hop enthusiasts in south Texas to entertain and be entertained,it's that simple. With the help of the contributing members acting as a street team and promoting every event to the fullest, the Prhymemates plan on providing the greater San Antonio, TX area with quality events, products and expos for years to come.
