Early Head Start/Head Start provide comprehensive child development services to economically disadvantaged children and families, with a special focus on helping children from birth to age five develop the early reading and math skills they need to be successful in school. Early Head Start/Head Start promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of enrolled children through the provision of educational, nutritional, health, social and other services.
