In September, 1994 The SilverDisc Music Company acquired a record store in the Los Angeles area, as well as two mail-order companies; one specializing in import CD's and the other specializing in heavy metal CD's. Although all three companies were doing quite well, a trend was developing that allowed consumers to buy music online. SilverDisc Music took advantage, merging the companies into a single entity to focus on building a music retail Internet presence.
In 1996 SilverDisc Music launched its online music store, a music web site specializing mainly in compact discs imported from all over the world. Soon after, we began to offer the entire catalog of domestic CD's, vinyl, videos, cassettes and eventually DVD's.
Today, SilverDisc Music provides over 180,000 titles of CD's, DVD's, SACD's, DualDiscs, vinyl, video and cassettes to thousands of loyal and satisfied customers. We carry all available domestic product as well as CD's and DVD's imported from the U.K., Japan, Germany, Australia and the rest of the world.
