Description
Snowy Hydro Limited is the leading provider of peak, renewable electricity to the National Electricity Market (NEM) as well as water related hedge products to irrigators and farmers. We are a fully integrated Australian energy business with an excellent track record in financial performance, generation innovation, workplace culture and business practices. We currently employ over 400 personnel in Cooma, Jindabyne, Talbingo, Khancoban, Cabramurra, Traralgon, Sydney and Melbourne.
We own and operate the 3756 megawatt (MW) Snowy Mountains Scheme, and integrated water and hydro-electric power project located in Australia's Southern Alps, as well as the 300MW Valley Power gas-fired power station located in Victoria.
In addition, we are currently constructing a 320MW gas peaking generation plant at Laverton North, Victoria, and we are the parent company of Red Energy, and electricity retailer selling to consumers in the Victorian market and soon into other states.
