Gwendolyn Briley-Strand is an accomplished actor that has been delighting audiences on stage, television, and in movie theaters for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Fordham University in New York. Ms. Briley-Strand is a member of the Actor's Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artist. Her television credits include "Homicide: Life on the Streets", "Law and Order", HBO Mini Series "The Corner.", and "The West Wing" to name a few.

Her film credits include "Atif's Journey" (Winner of 1997 Cable Ace Award - Best Educational Program Series), "Serial Mom", "Contact", and "Species II", "Mars Attack" and "Broadcast News". She is a major voiceover talent in the Baltimore/Washington DC area for The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, Iverson Mall, Murry's, and District Cable Vision. She is known for her portrayals of Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and Rosa Parks.

Gwendolyn Briley-Strand has been touring her one-woman show "Harriet Tubman: The Chosen One", since 1993. The Chosen One has been presented for hundreds of schools, and organizations thorough out the United States and Canada. The Chosen One has also been presented at the J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, The Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington DC, The Sewall-Belmont House and Museum on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, The Friends of Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum in Catonsville MD, The Chautauqua 2000 presented by the Maryland Humanities Council, Portsmouth Museum in Portsmouth VA, and The New York State Museum in Albany NY.
