United Nations Associations exist around the world. Each one takes on the nature of the particular country where it is located. The United Nations Association of the United States of America is a national nonprofit educational organization working to support the United Nations and provide educational programs on the issues being discussed in the United Nations. Affiliated with the national organization are Divisions (state-wide organizations) and Chapters (city-wide organizations) all across the country.

The Iowa United Nations Association is a state-wide organization that provides grassroots support for the United Nations System. It develops and relays citizen's ideas to United Nations and United States leadership. The Iowa UNA heightens public understanding and concern about global issues and their relationship to the UN system through research, education and information services.
