Value Added Application Solutions, Inc. (VAAS, Inc.) is located in Carmel, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis. VAAS, Inc. focus is on desktop and Web application development for the small business. I started VAAS, Inc. in the spring of 2000 because I saw a need for affordable, custom, business applications for small to medium sized companies in my area. Many small companies want to manage their information and data in ways that will help make their businesses more profitable, if not easier to manage. However, many can not afford expensive software solutions that often perform more functions (and require more training and support) than they really need. The alternative is to have a custom application written for them and often that is very expensive as well. Having worked in the IT industry for the past nine years, mostly working for larger companies, I found that many consulting companies charge high prices to develop custom applications and business solutions. Larger companies may be able to afford the expense but many small companies can not but could benefit just as much form a custom database to track their products or services. Thus, VAAS, Inc. was created.
