Bezos, Founder and Chief Executive Office of Amazon.com; Mark Cuban, President of Broadcast.com; Megan Crawford, Executive Director, Worldwide Research & Online Marketing, MGM; Doug Rice, President and CEO of Interactive8; and MJ Bear, Director of New Media Services at National Public Radio.

The award was presented to David Kurz, Online Services Coordinator for the Telecommunications Center, and the creator of the Wired for Books site. Kurz accepted the award at the San Francisco ceremony, which was webcast live on the Internet from the RealNetworks web site.
