In 1949, R.J. Blevins and Sons Gravel Hauling opened its doors in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Founded by Ray Blevins and his sons, Dale and Gene, R.J. Blevins and Sons carved out a modest niche in the dirt contracting and gravel hauling business. Industrious and resourceful, the three men began to explore new avenues for the business to expand. Blessed with a burgeoning post WWII market, Ray had the foresight to lay hold of the upsurge in demand for transportation construction.
