The website is based on user generated content, ie the visitors submit the news and also critique it.

Engineers tend to be busy people and there are a large number of resources out there for finding out what is happening in engineering. The average person doesn't have time to sift through all this to find the really interesting news. Engcom aims to alleviate this by doing that work for you.

The site is organised into the various flavors of engineering to allow you to find what interests you easily.

The main focus of the site is what they refer to as the Drawing Board. All articles submitted to the site get listed here for members of the community to view and discuss.

One of the sites more interesting features is it's Grid which is a member editable picture. It's similar to the Million Dollar Website idea however a little more fluid.
