Some people purchase general admission tickets and parking observe the races while picnicking on hillsides along the course. Others pay for reserved spots where they can park their vehicles and unload tailgate luncheons. Many of the tailgates are elaborate spreads with elegant displays of china, linens and silver, not to mention epicurean delights prepared for their guests.
