Initial D World Forums had switched host / server countless times. It started out in late 2000, from the very first CoolBoard (2000-2001), to ezboard (2001), to YaBB (2001), to YaBB SE (2001-2002), to the current Invision Board (2002-present). The actual turning point for Initial D World was when Google accepted and listed the main site as the first return result when you type in the keyword "Initial D." Many other small search engines use the same technology as Google does. When Google listed Initial D World as the first return result, many other search engines followed suit. The forums have always been a part of the main site (go2id.net) However, by the end of 2004 majority of the visitors no longer come from the main site. Instead, they came straight from the Google search result page. The forums was listed on google's index by itself. Eventually, people no longer recognize the forums as part of go2id.net. That was when the "split" happen. There would be regulars on the forums who never even heard of the main site before, let alone visit it. By early 2006, the administrator Perry L. teamed up with Corey M, the former web designer of initial-d.com, and work very hard together for an interactive Initial D Arcade Stage website. More interact features such as comment and news update were added in attempt to pull the main site and the forums back together.
