When you're offering free shipping, wouldn't it be nice to only show that post to people in the same country as your business? If you have an international customer base, you could send the same message in the best language for that audience.

==#2 Get Another Link to Your Website==

Aside from the full links you can include in the "Info" tab of your business' Page, you can also place another link in the info box below your image or logo. Just include <nowiki>http://</nowiki> or www. along with your website and it will become a simple link that people can click. See our example to the right.

==#3 Create a Custom URL for your Facebook Page==

The default URL for your business' Facebook page will be something like <nowiki>http://www.facebook.com/pages/Name-Of-Your-Facebook-Page/123456789</nowiki>. That won't be easy for you or your customers to remember.

You can set a username for your Page by going to [http://www.facebook.com/username/ Facebook.com/username], which will translate to a vanity URL like <nowiki>http://www.facebook.com/The-Username-You-Choose</nowiki>. For example, our custom Facebook URL is [http://facebook.com/AboutUs.org Facebook.com/AboutUs.org].

==#4 Get Into Your Fans' "Top News"==

The default view on a person's Facebook news feed is to see statuses and post that Facebook deems at "Top News". People that are on Facebook very often may notice and switch to "Most Recent", a stream of all statues and stories about all their friends, but you want to be seen by more people, right?

A big part of how Facebook determines what posts should show up in a person's "Top News" is determined by the number of people that have liked and commented on that status.

What does that mean for you?  Write compelling statuses that your fans would want to engage with, and at least ask your staff to like your company's Facebook statuses.

==#5 Link to your business' page when you mention it personally==

When posting a status on your personal Facebook account to your friends, link to your business' page when you mention it.

While typing your status, type an @ symbol followed immediately by the first few letters of the Facebook page you want to link to and it should show up as an option. That will make the name of your Page/business a link to its Page. This can help more of your personal friends connect with your business' Page, or at least have a link to learn more about it. (Note: You will only be able to link to Facebook Pages that you "like" and friends.)

==#6 Look at Your Insights & Learn About Your Fans==

Facebook provides free stats about the activity on your Page and the people connected to it.  You can learn the demographics (like age and gender) of your fans, see which of your posts got the most feedback and see graphs of likes and other actions over time. To access your Page's insights, look for the Insights box on the left and click "See All".

[[Image:FacebookInsightsRightThere2.png|right|250px]]

Facebook recently added some insight data right for admins right in the posts themselves. See image at right.

You can use this data to learn more about your customers and what they like, and how you can better improve your social media marketing, and perhaps even your products or services.

==#7 Post at the Best Time==

According to a [http://www.clickz.com/clickz/news/1734404/facebook-study-post-a-coupon-in-the-morning Facebook study], posts before noon get the best engagement from fans and Friday is the best day to post, while the weekend is the worst.

Think about your business in particular, too. Are your customers more likely to dig into your website and content on a weekend at home, or in the office during the week? What time zone are your fans in? (You can look at Insights mentioned in #6 to learn this.)

Another thing to keep in mind is if someone on your team will be there during and after the time you post to answer any follow-up comments on Facebook, to answer the phones, etc.
