In order to protect the integrity of the resource and to engage with fellow editors, AboutUs is committed to reviewing every edit made to its more than 15 million pages.
We also want to be a place where you feel encouraged to contribute and find it easy to do so or learn how. For this reason we have numerous help pages and ways to be contacted.
Our Technology
- AboutUs was pre-populated with information about many different websites.
- The thumbnail images are provided by Name Intelligence's proprietary thumbnail service and provide a link to the referred-to site.
- Our CamelCasing of domain names is a Name Intelligence technology, and we use it to help make domain names more readable. If you notice that the CamelCasing is wrong, you can correct it.
- The map in the "Website Information" box is from Google Maps' service.
- We developed the Page Views and Recent Contributors box (to the right of each page) to make the edits and visits each page receives more transparent.
- We created tags as a more user-friendly interface replacement for categories.
- Our lists are ranked websites about specific topics. People can create these lists and make them better.
