I’ve never been too comfortable with writing the About page of my blog. because if I say too much, I would be blowing my own trumpet; too little and I’ll be accused of not being confident about myself. But, as it turns out, every blog must have an about page and since no one else is willing to step to the mantle, I’ll have to do do it myself. Promise I won’t make this sound like a commendation certificate.
Well, I’m an Indian, of course and am currently based out of Hyderabad. In May 2006, I got married to Dimple, and no we are not planning a family yet! Since then, whatever skills I have acquired are all thanks to her. Not only is she supportive, but doesn’t have a problem if I need to work late. But she is in a bad mood, she’ll make it very clear that I should be with her, rather than stare at the monitor.
By profession, I am a technical writer and have been one for about seven years. I did not start my career as a technical writer; in fact my first writing job was with one of my favorite computer magazines CHIP, which is now known as DIGIT. CHIP was a fantastic experience. I was very new to computers and there was so much to learn that the below average remuneration was hardly a concern. I am still mad about computers, and apart from a tooth ache, my home system is the only thing, living or otherwise, that can keep me awake all night. Other than computers, I love movies, mostly Hollywood, Bollywood is hardly original. I can’t name my favorite movies as there are so many of them.
