where I worked as a W3C/IETF Working Group chair and editor. In 2003 I returned to graduate school — after seven years! — to articulate and contextualize my experience with new media and collaborative communities. I am now working on a dissertation on the collaberative culture of Wikipedia. At the start of the previous decade I was a Computer Science student at UMBC. I then moved to Boston and completed the two year Masters program in Technology and Policy at MIT. In between graduating and returning to MIT, I did Internet and interactive media consulting with McCann-Erickson, and Internet gambling consulting for go-Digital in NYC. I've also been a Resident Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at the Harvard Law School.

I live in Brooklyn, but like to visit Cambridge, Sydney, Seattle, Tokyo, and London as often as possible. I have the standard nerdy interests: photography, design, zines, and clever toys. Feel free to send me email, and even use my PGP key if you want.
