Shiply, basically works like a reverse auction. A bit like eBay, but for moving goods.
You list the items you need to move and then receive bids from thousands of transport providers. These providers are feedback-rated, so you know what level of service to expect. They fit the work in with deliveries they are already carrying out, so the consumer saved up to 75%.
The business was founded by Robert Matthams in June 2008 and has been featured by The Sunday Times, Metro, Guardian, BBC Radio 2, Radio 4, Mail on Sunday, Telegraph and many more.
They have also been awarded Nectar Start Up Of The Year 2009.
By matching users up with these empty lorries, Shiply helps reduce the number of un-necessary miles. To date, Shipy have saved over 2.7 million miles.
