Systel was founded in 1988 by Vimal Kothari as an engineering consulting company. Mr. Kothari graduated from the University of Houston with a MSEE degree and has been involved in ruggedized electronic designs since 1981. In 1994, the company began manufacturing its hallmark ruggedized designs. Since then the company has emerged as a leader in system integration and design of ruggedized COTS computers and displays.
