Our Mission - To provide a space to disseminate information and for Black LGBT people to interact and discuss issues that are relevant to them.
Our Goal- To provide a one-stop, comprehensive resource portal where users can get information.
The site was for black lgbt people and their friends and all are welcome to participate in discussions regardless of race. Their philosophy: they welcome diversity. Rejoice, enjoy, and explore the diversities, differences, and excitement of our cultures. It's our diversity that makes us strong!
Although the site is titled 'UK Black Out', they do not mean to exclude any race. They are simply trying to provide a service for which there is a gap in the market. Everyone is welcomed to participate. They do not promote racial divide.
When asked about the future, they said, "As you can see there are no boundaries, what we can offer in the way of information is limitless. Our community is dynamic and continually changing. Through the relevant sections on the web site, we hope to build a strong community that will have a voice in relevant matters. Your opinions are treasured, we strive on them. The site will continue to grow, with the addition of new features from time to time".
"As our community change, we will be riding the wealth of changes. There are times when we will 'go with the flow', and other times we will need to swim against the tide. Stay with us, grow with us. This is your site, and as such, its success depends on you using it to its fullest and us providing you with a first class service".
We will strive to make the site as interactive as budget permits. Remember, we are a not for profit resource, and any help you can administer would be greatly appreciated.
"Our main objectives are to provide support to charitable organizations (i.e.; fund-raising), help to combat HIV/AIDS, and to help fight discrimination of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people at home and abroad".
UK Black Out.com is is a non-profit organization and staffed by volunteers who contribute their time and effort to a cause they feel is important. With this in mind, they are always looking for people to contribute to the resource in anyway they can.
