Description
VIRL is a regional library with administrative offices located in Nanaimo, BC. We serve customers in 37 locations on Vancouver Island, the Queen Charlotte Islands and the Central Coast. Card holders can borrow materials from any of our 37 locations!
The library provides the community with access to a wide variety of informational, recreational and independent learning materials and services that are of interest to people of all ages. The library upholds the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The library carries out long-term planning and good fiscal management to ensure it has sufficient resources to carry out its mission. The library recruits, trains and retains competent personnel and develops and implements a succession plan. The library’s branches are efficient, comfortable, people places. The library uses effective, current technology to provide service.
