- ALPA's Engineering and Air Safety Structure has a long history of representing the line pilots' views regarding the aircraft and the environment in which they operate. The structure and organization of the Air Safety Committee reflects the continuing commitment of the Air Line Pilots Association to listen to and champion the safety issues that concern the line pilot and the public-at-large.
- The goal of the Engineering and Air Safety Department is to provide a safe workplace environment for all ALPA members. The Air Safety Operations section of the Department, through various committees and staff members, works to maintain the highest level of safety throughout the entire airline industry.
