Armenia Development Gateway
Description
The Armenia Development Gateway (AmDG) project began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Government of Armenia, the World Bank, and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in 2000. The responsible agency for AmDG Preparation Phase was Armenian Development Agency, authorized by the Armenian Government.
An infoDev grant AmDG Planning Phase was received by the Information Technologies Foundation in 2001 to develop a broad e-development approach for the AmDG project. As a result of the Planning Phase an independent, non governmental organization the Electronic Armenia (E-Armenia) Foundation was established, to carry out the AmDG project in the country. E-Armenia Foundation submitted a proposal for a Development Gateway Foundation’s Country Gateway Implementation Grant (starting AmDG Implementation Phase).
E-Armenia Foundation has received AmDG Implementation Grant (Country Gateway Implementation Grant # FY03-CGI-01 Agreement between Development Gateway Foundation and E-Armenia Foundation) from the Development Gateway Foundation in October 2002, that has been used for Armenia Development Gateway Project Implementation Phase Year I (2002-2003).
