- AstraGate began testing, and providing services privately in 1998. Their first servers were in Palo Alto, CA, while their headquarter was in Santa Clara, CA. The company was incorporated in January of 1999, and began providing public services in 1999, and advertising to the general public. The senior founder of the company was a Project Manager, and an Electrical Engineer circuit designer, who use to be a programmer prior to his career as an Electrical Engineer. He left a large well known microwave telecommunications company (number 1 microwave company in the USA, and the forth in the world) to found AstraGate, Inc. He gathered his friends who's backgrounds range from scientists, to IT professionals, to engineers, and directors, and VPs, and had them get involved with getting the company off the ground.
