- HELLO! Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Carol Miller, owner and author of Bric-A-Brac Korner. For those of you who are wondering what the word bric-a-brac means, it is a French term for rare, or artistic objects placed around a room for ornament. We are located in the beautiful show-me state of Missouri, 30 miles north of Kansas City and 20 miles south of St. Joseph. It is a rural and agricultural community here with little towns of 500-600 population scattered here and there. The main products farmed here are corn, soy bean, tobacco in some areas and, of course, cattle play a big part. The countryside consists of beautiful rolling hills dotted with farm houses and winding streams. Our own log-sided home sits on 40 acres of pasture and woods. The woods house all kinds of critters including deer, fox, coons, skunks, rabbits and coyotes.
