McIlvain is actually the second investigative journalist that Dankbaar has gone after. The first was Peter R. De Vries, a native of Dankbaar's own country, who at the time was Dankbaar's own partner. The site also explains Dankbaar's arrest and jailing for computer theft, stalking and harassment of police officers and their families in his native country. Wim Dankbaar is the perpetrator of the long standing James Files hoax, a story he purchased many years ago from a third party named Bob Vernon.
