- The Clarkston Community Band was founded by Mr. Frank Walters in c.1890 making the band one of the oldest in the state and country. During the early years the band played for local functions and also performed on the street to entertain visiting tourists who came to stay at one of the many inns once located on the lakes of Clarkston.
