- I’m a car nut and gearhead in general. The sound of just about any well-tuned high-performance engine gets my blood flowing. I have a passion for traditional hot rods. My Dad was a hot rodder during the heyday of the Ford Flathead, and his stories about racing at the dry lakes in Southern California had a big impact on my youth. So, American Iron is where it’s at for me. My boys are both Toyota 4x4 fans, but they like cool cars of all kinds, so they are salvageable. My passion for the American stuff has a lot to do with my age, and the golden age of Detroit muscle cars. I was twelve years old in 1970, and the muscle cars of the day were the focus of many of my dreams.
