- Genesis Fleet is a loose confederation of Star Trek and Sci Fi clubs based in the Tampa Bay area. We have affiliate clubs in other areas, Vero Beach, FL and Westland, MI. The group started out as a few Star Trek clubs in Tampa Bay that decided to band together for fun and social activities. Now we are in the process of change as all entities tend to do from time to time, we are slowly moving toward Sci Fi as a whole. We have a number of different interests. Costuming in various genres including but not limited to Marvel Heroes, Pirates, Renaissance Period, Star Wars, and numerous others. We go to Sci Fi fantasy conventions in the state and abroad. Our biggest convention is of course Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA over Labor Day weekend. Our other big event annually is multiple weekends at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival here in Tampa. We generally go in costume and have a blast. We do TV show and movie premieres as a group. We tend to have theme get togethers at different times of the year, Halloween parties and New Year's Parties, we dont need much of an excuse to put our costumes on, get together and have fun.
