- Genie's is an independent wild bird, nature, and gift store located in Slidell, Louisiana. We are a small family business that has been operating for 8 years. We opened our little store so that our youngest daughter, Genie, who was born with Down Syndrome would have a safe place to work and we could all be together. Backyard birding was our hobby for many years so it seemed natural to us to open a store selling what we loved so much and knew so much about. We cater to those who want to attract birds and nature to their backyards. We can answer any of your birding questions so feel free to email us at any time.
