- My husband and I always planned on me staying home once we had kids. He is in sales, and had been a realtor for a few years when I got pregnant. Everything was going according to plan until the housing market crashed right when I had the baby. Well, he went out and got another sales job, but after a few months, it just wasn’t enough. I put the word out to a few people that I wanted to baby-sit part time, and within a few weeks, I had as many hours as I wanted babysitting for a couple different families. They had no problem with me bringing my baby with me. After all, who makes a better babysitter than a Mom? This situation has been working out great for all of us. After a while, it occurred to me that there should be a place for people to connect on these issues. I told my husband that I wanted a website where parents can find other parents to support each other. I mean, even stay at home Moms need a babysitter once in a while to go to the Doctor or get a hair cut! Also, I told him that it had to be free for users. There are lots of businesses that are happy to advertise so we have money to keep the site going.
