Kristel is a composer and mezzo-soprano currently living in Ottawa. Currently studying at the University of Ottawa, she continues to teach vocal music and theory, and is active as a performer. Kristel has composed art music and designed sound sequences that range from music for unusual chamber ensembles to choir and orchestra and she continues to explore various sound structures in her music.

Kristel was born in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada in 1981 and grew up in Ottawa. Her vocal experience includes classical, musical theatre, jazz, opera, operetta, rock and pop. She has also studied acting/theatre and dancing. She has sung in many touring choirs including the Leeds University Liturgical Choir and the Cantata Singers of Ottawa and performed in various European countries including Czech Republic, Poland, France and England.
