- Medved Running and Walking Outfitters was established in 1984 by Morris Medved. Morris, an avid runner since the late 1960s, wanted to merge his love of running with his background in retailing. Prior to opening the store, Morris had held positions with some of the finest men's specialty stores of their time; including the Boston Store in Milwaukee, Maurice L. Rothschild also located in Milwaukee and Dayton Company in Minneapolis. Morris came to Rochester in 1968 as an executive with Hickey Freeman, prior to opening the store.
