Formally trained in the Ashtanga yoga tradition, Lori has studied with Ashtanga yoga master David Swenson, vinyasa teacher Seane Corn, and Shannon Wells. Additional teachers who’ve inspired and guided her along the yogic path include Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest, Erich Schiffmann, as well as many others. Ultimately, teachers come and go, and while she’s studied with many remarkable, in fact extraordinary, teachers, she recognizes the greatest teacher of all is the one inside – the one that lives in your heart; the one that knows what’s right for you, is the one that fundamentally remains. That is the teacher she hopes to awaken in each of her students – their own inner guru.

Lori blends her experience, knowledge, and passion for teaching into a non-dogmaic style that translates into her own eclectic style of teaching and brings yoga to our community in an environment that's both supportive and nurturing to ALL physical levels and abilities. She enjoys teaching classes that are energetic, playful, and exploratory – working with students to help them develop their own personal and unique connection to the practice of yoga, both on and off the mat. Her intention is to help guide students in using yoga as a vehicle for healing, in body, mind, and spirit, while connecting to their Source, the Divine that is within us all.

Lori has always followed a spiritual path; although it was a repetitive stress injury to her neck that brought her to her first yoga class. Originally, she started practicing yoga after discovering how its therapeutic effects could help alleviate her chronic neck pain. However, what continued to bring her back to her mat, time and time again, was the sense of oneness she would experience at the end of her practice – those final moments when everything within – body, mind, heart, and soul – come into perfect alignment with the Divine. Because of this experience, Lori had become an advocate for the therapeutic benefits that come from practicing yoga on a regular basis. Today, with a consistent personal practice, she is pain-free and considers yoga to be the establishing force in her life that allows her to handle all the stresses of daily life with equanimity while keeping her connected to her Source.
