Established by Michael Kynast in 2000, Newslookup.com is the first news search engine to arrange search results by source of the news organization and categorize by news media type (i.e. Newspapers, Television, Radio, Internet, etc). We are the first and only news search engine that allows the user to search and display results by document parts, including document body, meta keywords and meta description. Advanced settings typically found within several clicks when using other news search engines are all readily accessible from every search form. Newslookup.com is the only news search engine that provides a snapshot look of news web sites throughout the world.
The Newslookup.com search technology is configured to provide non-weighted unsanitized search results. This ultimately presents the user with search results that are not weighted to any particular news organization, nor is news content filtered in any way during the crawl. Therefore all news organizations are given equal status in search results and unlike other news search engines that specifically filter content, newslookup.com crawls a site without regard to news content.
With the lack of a news service that aggregates news headlines from top news sites by source region and media type, in 2004 Newslookup.com began presenting news headlines from the top news sites in this fashion referred to as region and topical editions. At the same time we began providing XML/RSS feeds for many of the top news sites around the globe that were initially lacking this service. Today Newslookup.com continues to provide news feeds for many news organizations including those that are lacking this service.
