- Approximately 5 months ago Teamsters Local 50 began negotiating the contract of the union members of Illinois Distributing Company. This process began with a list of contractual DEMANDS from Illinois Distributing Company. The elimination of a 40 hour work week, elimination of overtime pay, new pay structures that would result in anywhere from 20% to 30% reduction in pay, change from the unions health plan to an inferior company plan and a significant reduction in retirement benefits were only a FEW of the things that this company was DEMANDING rather than negotiating. They basically wanted to rewrite the entire contract.
