PMR was founded in May 1999, we started our organization with 4-5 women who felt their was a desperate need to have an organization to help the puppy mill dogs, get out of MO, escape what had been their fate for many years, death and worse!.
We began by forming PMRescue list and putting up a small website, at the time the only dogs we had for adoption were Four dogs Yorkies I rescued from an auction in MO with the help of a person I paid to bid on them.
We had no money other than seed money provided by myself, so we set about devising ways to raise funds. Our first venture was the "raffle" we ask for donations of merchandise and solicited our friends relatives and Yorkie lists to join us. Our raffle funds help to provide medical needs for the dogs, and also money to purchase dogs at auction. Between January 1999 and the end of June 2000 our friends who purchase tickets have enabled us to rise a total of $2,782.50.
