- About the saidia.org name
- Saidia means to help, according to the Kamusi Project online kiswahili-english dictionary. My first encounter with the word was probably back in 1988 or so when I lived and went to the International School of Kenya in Nairobi. I was deeply influenced and fascinated by beautiful kiswahili words then, and am still very interested in them now. This is nowhere as apparent as in the name I chose for my own organization back in 1999. Kabissa is derived from the kiswahili word kabisa, meaning complete. I snagged the saidia.org domain name many years ago and have always wanted to put it to good use. Saidia remains a commonly heard word in Nairobi, and I do hope this site lives up to its name and is helpful.
